A Family Room for Entertaining by Ash Morsi

Our 2013 Makeover Winner was looking to take a blank, empty room and transform it into a warm, cozy, and comfortable space. Preferring greys, the clients expressed that they’d love to add a bit of color into the room as well.

Senior Designer Ash Morsi was able to achieve this goal by anchoring the room with a graceful Vanguard Sofa dressed in a warm grey fabric. The fluted tapered leg gives this sofa the contemporary style desired while the generous feather-down cushions provide a comfortable sanctuary. Facing the sofa, the Weston Entertainment Console from Aspenhome provides functional storage to the room. Also incorporated in the room, two Azriel Sam Moore chairs give balance and allow for a better eye flow and traffic, accented with a fun chevron pillow. Adjacent to the fireplace, the armless Rhys Sam Moore chair with a trendy geometric pattern adds a balanced boldness and flair. The Surya Rug brings all these elements together and brings the coziness that the clients desired and the designer strived for.

The accessories and window treatments add a dazzling and happy feel to the room. A Left Bank piece of artwork over the fireplace gives a contemporary flow and adds an array of colors to play with. The pillows add depth and style to the sofa, featuring plaid and floral patterns.

By bringing in neutrals and accenting with color, an amazing space to love, live in, and enjoy for many years to come was created!
