Functional Family Room

This home was still new to Ken L's family who had moved in less than a year ago and had an empty, spacious family room. With two young children, the family was looking for practical, functional, and easy to clean furniture in a warm and welcoming space.

With the help of Belfort Furniture's design services, this family room is now a place to relax and entertain guests, and enjoy family movie night. The family described their style as transitional. Their style preferences lean toward clean lines and neutral colors. Belfort’s design team was able to add some pops of colors to the neutral palette; you will see turquoise, green, and red through the accessories and pillows in the room.

The Huntington House sofa with chaise provides the comfort the family wanted and long-lasting durability to withstand active children. Keeping it in a neutral color allowed our design team to have a little fun with accent prints on the pillows. The accompanying swivel chair and accent ottomans by Rowe offer additional seating and interest with complementing prints.

The wall unit from Aspenhome helps anchor the television and frame it to become the focal point in the room. Shelves throughout the entertainment unit are accessorized with books, frames, figurines, vases, and greenery while closed storage below hides all of the television components and DVDs out of sight!

Belfort’s Design Team mixed the occasional tables by using a storage cocktail table from Riverside, small end tables from Four Hands, and an accent table from Hooker Furniture. Custom window treatments perfectly frame the wall of windows and feature a fun, bold print.

Ken and his wife opted for a clean, minimalist look. By incorporating additional art and accessories with your own style, this room could take on an entirely different look!
