2016 Home Makeover Contest Winner: Durable Living Room and Dining Room

Longing for beach living? Clients Michelle and Steve dream to live at Folly Beach in South Carolina with their family so the Belfort Design Team brought their dream to Northern Virginia. The 2016 Home Makeover Contest winners now have a living room and dining room that are both comfortable and durable. Michelle and Steve needed a room that was durable enough to withstand everyday life which includes a cat and hopefully a future dog and grandchildren.

The Design Team used bright, happy colors to recreate the feeling of being at the beach. They selected the Brentwood Sofa by Rowe and customized it with a microprint made of 100% polyester. From farther away the microprint fabric looks solid but up close it provides a beautiful diamond pattern.

The accent chairs selected for the room are by Sam Moore Upholstery and were customized to coordinate with the sofa. A 100% polypropoylene rug by Momeni anchors the room and provides a durable surface that’s easy to maintain. The coastal inspired television console and sofa table are part of Riverside's Placid Cove Collection and accurately fit the space.

An extension dining table by Legacy Classic centers the dining space and is complemented by custom finished solid wood chairs by John Thomas. The room’s finishing touches include draperies from the Select Custom Collection by Belfort’s own window treatment department and accessories from Uttermost and Leftbank.
